102 - BreakPoint Chain Report Operation

The Chain Report Operation is a fully automated sequence of events which can be programmed to include printing of various cashier reports, clearing of stored totals, and creating of ASCII File data. There are two (2) Chain Report operations, CHAIN1 and CHAIN2, which can be programmed independently to produce different sets of reports.

The Chain Report routines can be invoked one of two ways. From the Reports Menu of the BreakPoint Configuration Menu, an operator may invoke CHAIN1 or CHAIN2 operations manually. The Chain Report operations may also be invoked automatically as a step in the End of Shift Cashout Operation.

The Chain Report operations are controlled by a series of system flags. These flags permit the system operators to include or exclude any report operation from the Chain Report, so that each of the Chain Reports may be customized to exactly that sequence of report operations which is desired.

The report operations which are supported by the Chain Report are programmed by the following system flags:
  • GS 170 - Full Financials Printed on Chain 1.
  • GS 171 - Full Financials ASCIIed on Chain 1.
  • GS 172 - Full Financials Zeroed on Chain 1.
  • GS 173 - Cashier Printed on Chain 1.
  • GS 174 - Cashier ASCIIed on Chain 1.
  • GS 175 - Hourly Totals Printed on Chain 1.
  • GS 176 - Hourly Totals ASCIIed on Chain 1.
  • GS 177 - Hourly Totals Zeroed on Chain 1.
  • GS 178 - Full Clerk Printed on Chain 1.
  • GS 179 - Full Clerk ASCIIed on Chain 1.
  • GS 180 - Full Clerk Zeroed on Chain 1.
  • GS 181 - PLUs Printed on Chain 1.
  • GS 182 - PLUs ASCIIed on Chain 1.
  • GS 183 - PLUs Zeroed on Chain 1.
  • GS 221 - Full Financials Printed on Chain 2.
  • GS 222 - Full Financials ASCIIed on Chain 2.
  • GS 223 - Full Financials on Chain 2.
  • GS 224 - Cashier Printed on Chain 2.
  • GS 225 - Cashier ASCIIed on Chain 2.
  • GS 226 - Hourly Totals Printed on Chain 2.
  • GS 227 - Hourly Totals ASCIIed on Chain 2.
  • GS 228 - Hourly Totals Zeroed on Chain 2.
  • GS 229 - Full Clerk Printed on Chain 2.
  • GS 230 - Full Clerk ASCIIed on Chain 2.
  • GS 231 - Full Clerk Zeroed on Chain 2.
  • GS 232 - PLUs Printed on Chain 2.
  • GS 233 - PLUs ASCIIed on Chain 2.
  • GS 234 - PLUs Zeroed on Chain 2.

These flags permit three different types of report operations, including:
1. Printing of various cashier reports.
2. ASCII File generation of various cashier totals.
3. Zeroing (or Clearing) of various cashier totals.

To program a Chain Report operation, the operator must set the flag for each report operation which is desired to YES. Once the flag has been set for a particular report operation, it will automatically be included with the Chain Report operation.

WARNING: It is possible to zero or clear a particular report without printing it using the Chain Report routines. Exercise caution when using Zero operations to ensure that all reports are printed prior to zeroing.

To include either of the Chain Report operations with an End of Shift Cashout Operation, operators must be concerned about the following system flags:
  • GS 207 - Perform CHAIN1 Report Operation with Cashout 1.
  • GS 208 - Perform CHAIN2 Report Operation with Cashout 1.

  • GS 218 - Perform CHAIN1 Report Operation with Cashout 2.
  • GS 219 - Perform CHAIN2 Report Operation with Cashout 2.

If these flags are set to YES, the Chain Report operation will be performed automatically with the specified Cashout operation. Please refer to the Technical Newsletter entitled "End of Shift Cashout Operations" for more specific information.
