103 - Chain Report ASCII File: PSYYMMDD.reg
The type of operations that can be included in a Chain Report operation are printing of reports, clearing of reports, and the writing of report data to an ASCII Output File called the Chain Report ASCII File.
BreakPoint offers two Chain Reports. Each is individually programmable and can include printing, clearing or ASCII storing of the Financial, Cashier, Hourly, Clerk, and PLU reports. Once a Chain Report is programmed, it may be performed by selecting CHAIN1 Report or CHAIN2 Report from the Reports Menu. The Chain Report operations may also be included as part of the End-of-Day Cashout Operations.
The programming of the Chain1 Report Operation is controlled by Global System Flags 170 to 183. The programming of the Chain2 Report Operation is controlled by Global System Flags 221 to 234. These flags permit the operator to indicate what reports will print, what reports will be cleared, and what reports will be outputted to the Chain Report ASCII file.
The ASCII file output produced is placed in a file with the filename PSYYMMDD.reg, where YYMMDD is the current date of operation and reg is the Register Number. This file will usually be written to the current directory, unless specified otherwise in the Export Directory field found in the Hardware Setup Screen of the BreakPoint Configuration Menu.
The Chain Report ASCII File PSYYMMDD.reg will contain data for whatever reports were flagged to be included in the Chain Operation. This information is presented in standard ASCII format with one record per data item and each record terminated with a Carriage Return/Linefeed.
