108 - BreakPoint Remote Technical Support

  Remote Technical Support is a term used to refer to technical support provided from a remote site. Remote technical support is made possible by use of telephone lines, communication modems, and remote support software. Using these tools, a BreakPoint support technician can connect to any BreakPoint system anywhere in the world and provide all types of system support services.

Remote technical support is essential to the proper installation and ongoing maintenance of any BreakPoint system. In today's world, the products that are handled by local computer and cash register dealers are too diverse and too sophisticated for them to learn everything that is required in order to provide 100% customer support. Subsequently, there is always a point at which the local dealer must pass off the support responsibility to someone that is more knowledgeable about the product.

In the case of powerful and sophisticated software products such as BreakPoint, the need for remote technical support usually comes early in the installation process. With so many features and so many options that the client can elect to use or not use, it is highly unusual for the local installing dealers to not require remote technical support early in the installation process.

For this reason, we at BreakPoint make no pretense about the importance of remote technical support. If a dealer is installing a BreakPoint Standalone System with no connections to any other computers, the use of remote technical support is somewhat optional, as most dealers are capable of completing such an installation on their own. However, any dealer that is installing BreakPoint Professional or BreakPoint Grocery will absolutely require remote technical support services.

To acquire remote technical support, the dealer must be equipped with a high-speed modem (minimum 9600 baud) and a copy of PC Anywhere Remote Support Software. These products are universally available and easily affordable. In addition, the dealer or client must have pre-purchased one of the BreakPoint Technical Support Packages.
